Taurasi DOCG is the red wine par excellence of Irpinia. Taurasi DOCG is a wine of great importance for its structure, its tannins and longevity. Taurasi DOCG over the years gives emotions, a wine to be tasted.
First Vintage Produced: 2015
Plant density: 3,000 plants/ha – Average age of the vineyard 20 years.
Land : Vineyards located at 550/600 m above sea level. Clayey, calcareous, sandstone soil rich in volcanic deposits.
Company management: Organic for 20 years.
Harvest : Grapes are vigorously hand-picked with the utmost care in small 20 kg crates.
Harvest period: Early November.
Vinification : 25 days in 50 hl oak conical barrels.
Maturation : A stay of 24/36 months in 50 hl oak barrels. Followed by a long refinement in the bottle.
Color : Ruby red with garnet reflections.
Aroma : On the nose, intense and complex, persistent balsamic notes, wild berries, dog rose, smoke, black cherry, violet, hints of undergrowth bark, dark spices, velvety and elegant tannin.
Taste : Full-bodied and dynamic mouth, rich freshness, lively and pleasant tannins, good flavor. Leaves wild notes in the mouth, excellent persistence.
Pairing : Roast red meat, game, hard or mature cheeses.
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
