Company History:
The company is based in the municipality of Montemiletto, in the heart of the green Irpinia, it works patiently to select the best lands, carefully choosing the vines. Part of our vineyards extend over the fertile hills that surround the Calore river valley, the heart of the Aglianico vine from which the prized Taurasi wine is obtained.
Macchie Santa Maria Cantine is a young company, like its founder Oreste De Santis who, with the precious collaboration of his family and expert oenologists, works with dedication in the constant search for quality. Macchie Santa Maria Cantine presents itself as a modern expression of ancient traditions; the company's strength is based on modern methods of agricultural production, with extreme attention to agronomic innovation and respect for the environment, also relying on renewable energy systems to minimize the company's environmental impact.
The Origins
Wine production in the Irpinia lands is an art that has been handed down for centuries. Since ancient times, families in the area have cultivated vineyards for their own personal use, and it is precisely from the tradition of three generations that Macchie Santa Maria Cantine was born in 2010. Today, the entrepreneurial spirit and passion of the new generation has expertly integrated innovative techniques with traditional production methods, bringing the wines of our company to excellence.
The Mission
The main objective set by our company is to continue, as it has been for previous generations, the creation of a product faithful to what have always been the winemaking traditions of the territory, while at the same time using the most modern means of processing to guarantee the quality and perfect conservation of the wine, passing through the careful aging process of the most valuable products. All this to maximize the value of the products linked to the territory and, consequently, what is the quality of "made in Italy" at an international level.
Stay
The winery has rooms to stay directly in the cellar in close contact with nature and the green Irpinia.
